Their business model is sound. And they are still doing better than other companies.
Nintendo is making mountains of money. They are doing better than Sony and Microsoft, regardless of the stock drop.
Don't get me wrong, I wish they'd release some more hardcore games. But that isn't their market anymore. Good for them for maintaining jobs in this current economic climate.
And to be honest, I do not see anything appealing coming from any of the big three. I think that when I'm done University, I'm going to return to my roots in PC gaming. PC developers are willing to do much more exciting things on the PC, and online services are just better online. Also, Steam.
All this current generation of game consoles has shown me is that console gaming is extremely unappealing and not worth the money people spend on it.
1. again you seem to argue about the fininical success of a company you purchase from.
2. alot of places don't have to lay off with the recession. i read in the iron warrior that co-op employment dropped 2% this year, but 200 more students had jobs than the previos year.
3. steam = fail
4. console gaming hasnt been as exciting to you maybe because you arent looking in the right places? things like halo can be loads of fun (esp. when you get into things like grifball & living dead double exp weekends and forged maps & custom games.
if thats still not your thing there is also lots of fun to be had else where like castle crashers & portal: still alive.
being a Wii player, im willing to bet a big part of the reason you think PC games have so much more to offer is because from youre point, they have much more hardware power available to them, allowing for more intricate gameplay & graphics; a better experience.
the downside to that are things like crisys.
5. you only help prove my point about you loving the success of nintendo more than your Wii enjoyment by not commenting on awesome 360-sniper-helicopter-drones. you know thats cool.
