If I Were A Water Craft....

Here is toady's topic. Lmack, read it. This post is similar to one of Binks; commentary on the world/interwebs.

So, as a programmer, I pissed my pants laughing on this one. I haven't used all languages mentioned, but have heard things. My favorite there by far is HTML. I know barely any HTML myself, but have dabbled in it. I dislike it when web developers think they can "program" because they know HTML. (note: I almost never come into contact with people like this, it just bugs me in theory.)

Read some of the comments too. Apparently there is a huge buzz around Python. Never heard anything either way about it, have you?

Also note, that a lot of comments are retarded, asking about "C". "C" is a fucking nuclear sub you tards. Gawd.

hahahaha i'm loving php as a bamboo raft... python's pretty nifty but can take a lot of time to learn, which is annoying because it sometimes feels like if you know a couple of languages, it should be easy to transfer and easy to learn other languages, but python, and other ones like silly perl, can take foreeever.

I love that I'm being used as a point of reference, or a class of blog post.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

HTML's description is pretty good. But, it's great as a first introduction to working within the "guts" of computing - it's something that even kids can pick up, and they can do something that they can show off right away. It at least gets across the concept of, "Yes, we write commands that the computer interprets and does things with"

I've heard good things about python, never really looked at it too closely though.

And now, my favorite programming-language related quote:
"Saying Java is good because it works on all platforms is like saying anal sex is good because it works on all genders"

No Freudian analysis, please. Haha

HTML may be easy for kids to pick up, but so is VB. Actually I would argue VB is far easier to learn and can do a lot more than HTML.

Side note: I may be working with VB.net, but I am not praising it.
